OUR (LITTLE) FAMILY

Read (a little) about us, if you'd like.

Two people (mom & son) doing our best to live and love in the true spirit of humanity – with as much joy, compassion, silliness, and stillness as possible.

A LITTLE ABOUT

Julie

Mom to Sebastian. full-stack designer and artist by trade, and crazy about most things creative. Loves to read and write poetry, illustrate and create art, apples (she eats one every single day), and walking in nature. Recently she reintroduced herself to snowpants and now that’s true even in the winter! Julie and her fabulous son are super happy to call Evanston home. She is excited and honored to host people from all over the world!

A LITTLE ABOUT

Sebastian

Sebastian just received his bachelor of arts in biochemistry & molecular biology. He will always be a life-long learner, loves engineering, and is working on ways to change the world for the better. Some of his favorite past times: spending time in nature, music theory, guitar, gardening, woodworking, learning new skills, math, dogs, advocating for the planet, and hanging with his mom.

SIX YEARS IN

Still learning, still growing.

We’ve been hosting for six years now, and it’s genuinely been a beautiful experience — more learning, more growth than we expected from opening up our home to people who, more often than not, don’t stay strangers for long. We love our repeat guests. Best neighbors ever.

OUR NEW (TEMP) FAMILY MEMBER

Our foster dog, Cassy

Looking for a super awesome companion with the biggest heart? This is your guy! Cassy is our precious foster dog. If you’re interested in finding out more about him, let us know.

LITTLE KNOWN FACTS

Just in case you're still reading

We eat (between us) 6 eggs almost every day, but no meat.
We are HUGE dog rescue advocates, and dogs in our care (ours and fosters) all eat a home-coooked vegetarian fare. (There are lots good reasons for this. Ask us if you’re curious why.)
We are always on the hunt for a good wholesome story to watch. Our fave so far is Little House on the Prairie.
We start everything in our garden from seeds and care for our little plant nursery starting in February.
OUR PROPERTIES

Long stays, short stays, the same amount of care.

We have long and short term rentals, both of which we put a lot of love and care into.

A LITTLE MORE JULIE

Some of the art that lives here, too.
